Responsibilities:

  • The North Asia Cargo Leader will be responsible for managing the coordination of business development, broking and placement activities for Cargo business primarily in the North Asia region supporting the Asia Specialty Practice and reporting into the Asia Cargo Leader
  • Assist in developing strategic growth plans and support and drive sales and placement initiatives in conjunction with and for local Marsh offices in, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea and India (To be finalised)
  • Visit existing clients and new prospects where appropriate
  • Work closely with the Asia Regional Cargo Leader in developing plans for both North Asia and support budgeting and planning sessions where appropriate
  • Review client’s exposures and loss experience against current types of coverage and analyse risk to determine products and service requirements
  • Leads risk identification process in area of specialty
  • In conjunction with the Global Placement Organization and Senior Client Advisor (depending on level), develop broking plans in response to client needs and gains client’s approval
  • Communicates the broking plan to clients, brokers and carriers, as appropriate
  • Receives, negotiates and evaluates quotes from the carrier or the broking centre and presents a recommendation to client
  • Upon client’s acceptance, binds coverage and issues appropriate documents. Invoices the client and monitors payment by the client to avoid policy cancellation. Responsible for policy checking and delivery to client
  • Delivers daily service to the clients for the specific product line that assures that their risk management needs are appropriate met
  • Implements and maintains a quality post-sales service plan
  • Responsible for and convenes the internal pre-meeting before the renewal strategy meeting
  • Creates and presents renewal proposals to existing clients and participates in presentations to prospective clients
  • Keeps abreast of changing market conditions and informs client executives carries, brokers and/or clients of major development affecting various types of coverage
  • Identifies the need for new products and suggests solutions to brokers and/or carries

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in any discipline
  • Minimum 5 - 7 year’s relevant experience in cargo broking or underwriting industry;
  • Proficient in PC Skills, including MS Office
  • Possesses solid insurance brokerage, account management, servicing and sales skills
  • Ambitious, solution focus and with strong skills in client relationship management
  • Good Command of both written and spoken English. Fluent in speaking Mandarin will be definitely be an advantage
