Web Editor (Young Post) (Ref: ED-WEYP)

To tell stories from Hong Kong, China and around the world for our teenagers. This is a dynamic, exciting position where you will be a part of the Young Post team.  


Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan, maintain, and run Young Post’s digital and social media content including articles and blogs (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram), monitor and drive traffic of the Young Post website
  • Produce and publish content to the Young Post website on a daily basis in a way that engages young readers, and helps develop their news literacy and English language skills
  • Remain up to date with the news cycle, including sports, entertainment and education matters
  • Manage a team of four part-time web assistants to generate content for, and bloggers who contribute content to the site
  • Oversee SEO and ensure headlines are SEO friendly, multimedia integrations and aesthetics of
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing or other members of the Young Post team on competitions, Young Post exclusives, and advertorials, and co-ordinate the online or social media content to generate exposure for these projects
  • Plan and execute live website and social media coverage of events such as Occupy Central, Young Post exclusive competitions, Junior Reporters Awards, Student of the Year awards, release of HKDSE results, June 4th Vigil, and other events
  • Generate and subbing content for Young Post, both in print and online


Job Requirements:

  • Degree holder major in Journalism, with 3-5 years' work experience as a web editor
  • Editing skills with a demonstrable portfolio of published work, and in-depth knowledge of SEO
  • Familiarity with content management systems, excellent writing and editing skills in English, attention to detail
  • A passion for working with young people, and a background in news
  • Knowledge of Hong Kong culture would be an advantage
  • Being able to speak and read Mandarin and Cantonese would be an advantage


Work location will be at Causeway Bay office.
