Job Summary

The role will report to the Head of Player Welfare & Medical and Lead Physiotherapist and will be responsible for providing physiotherapy services to National players, as well as delivery of group and individual based rehabilitation programs.

Specific responsibilities

  • To provide evidence-based physiotherapy and rehabilitation to national players, primarily players within Women’s XV’s, development and national age-grade programs, including physiotherapy coverage of training sessions and tours (home and abroad)
  • To communicate effectively with players and support staff, including providing written and verbal reports on player’s conditions to key stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • To design and deliver individual and group rehabilitation sessions for injured players
  • To maintain an efficient and proactive physio service, including timetable and diary management, to ensure adequate player access to physiotherapy treatment
  • To work closely with other national Physiotherapists and Strength & Conditioning coaches to provide effective strategies for rehabilitation and prevention of injuries
  • To monitor player load management data and injury status and provide reports for discussion to the management and medical teams
  • To develop and complete appropriate medical / musculoskeletal screening processes for Women’s XV’s and development players, and assist with screening for other national squads, as required
  • To maintain accurate and up to date clinical records
  • Assist in ad-hoc assignments as required


Your profile

  • Degree holder in Physiotherapy/ Sports Science/ Sports Physiotherapy or Sports Medicine, or proof of equivalent experience 
  • 1-2 years post-graduate experience 
  • Licensed to practice physiotherapy in Hong Kong 
  • Professional Liability Insurance 
  • Previous experience of working in a national rugby team or elite athlete environment 
  • Current Immediate Care in Sports (ICIS) Level 2 qualification or equivalent 
  • Fluent in English, Cantonese preferred
