Important Security Notice from cpjobs.com

What happened?

cpjobs.com recently discovered that an unauthorized third party attacked our website and was able to gain access to user data. We have shut down the impacted pages, deactivated all users’ passwords, and installed additional layers of data security safeguards. In addition, we have notified law enforcement and are working closely with them on their investigation. We are assessing the impact and have notified our users.

When did this happen?

We identified two attempts on 28 August and 30 August.

What kind of data has been stolen?

It includes user data and passwords. Our investigation is ongoing but there is no evidence to suggest that CVs have been compromised. We will notify users if any additional risks are identified.

How many users are affected?

The investigation is ongoing. At this stage we have to assume all users have been impacted.

What steps have you taken to reinforce data security?

We have shut down the impacted pages, deactivated all users’ passwords, and installed additional layers of data security safeguards.

We have notified law enforcement and will be working closely with them on the investigation.

How can I delete my account on cpjobs.com?

Our Customer Service team is here to help. Please contact us at info@cpjobs.com and share with us your login name / registered email address. Upon verification, we will remove your user data from our database. If you leave us your contact phone number, we could speed up the process.

I am a registered user on SCMP.com. Will this affect South China Morning Post's database?

No. The SCMP database was unaffected. It is housed in other servers guarded by a separate cybersecurity system.
