The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) unveiled its CGMA Professional Qualification syllabus for 2026. This upgrade is designed to prepare students for the future of work and meet the growing expectations of modern finance professionals to be high-performance finance business partners capable of utilising technology and applying critical thinking skills.

Following an extensive global search, the Board of Directors of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (the Association) has appointed Mark Koziel, CPA, CGMA, as the organisation’s next CEO. Koziel will succeed Barry Melancon, CPA, CGMA, who will retire at the end of 2024.

The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) have entered into a new 5-year agreement to accelerate the growth of the accounting and finance profession in Hong Kong by approving mutual examination paper exemptions (MEPE) from both CIMA’s CGMA Professional Qualification and the HKICPA Qualification Programme (QP).

The Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, representing AICPA & CIMA, has officially launched the CGMA Finance Leadership Program in the U.K., an alternative pathway to complete CIMA’s CGMA Professional Qualification and earning the CGMA designation. CGMA Finance Leadership Program candidates will study the same syllabus, sit the same case study exams and need the same practical experience requirement as those on the traditional pathway. However, it will be delivered through self-paced e-learning.
