Associate Engineer (Ref. 261028003-IE)

Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a) facilitate student learning and development, and develop corresponding curriculum and pedagogy;

(b) lead and coordinate student learning modules and subjects, and promote teaching quality among colleagues;

(c) provide research support and conduct knowledge transfer activities;

(d) assist in the implementation of strategic actions;

(e) conduct essential activities for the operation in the assigned team;

(f) interact closely with stakeholders in the University; and

(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Centre or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a) a recognised degree or a higher degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline;

(b) proficiency in using industry-standard 3D CAD/modelling software;

(c) hands-on experience in building and testing engineering prototypes;

(d) excellent project management and problem-solving skills; and

(e) a good command of both written and spoken English.

Preference will be given to those with:

(a) experience in the mechanical design of complex products or engineering equipment;

(b) industry experience in healthcare or medical product development; or

(c) familiarity with Python, MATLAB or Arduino, particularly for automation, data visualisation or the testing of electromechanical components.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
