Systems Engineer (DevOps & Linux, over $35K)

Key responsibilities

• Configure, maintain and optimise network and server infrastructure within GCIS and on-premises environments

• Develop and maintain automation scripts, deployment pipelines and operational workflows to improve system efficiency and reliability

• Perform system administration, platform configuration, testing and troubleshooting activities

• Prepare and execute unit testing, integration testing, test plans, technical specifications and operational guidelines

• Monitor system performance, logging and alerting mechanisms to ensure service availability and operational excellence

• Provide ongoing technical support, maintenance and enhancement for production and non-production environments

• Perform other duties and IT-related tasks as assigned by supervisors
  

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related discipline

• At least 3 years experience in DevOps

• Strong technical knowledge of DevOps tools, cloud infrastructure, networking and system administration

• Hands-on experience in implementing DevOps practices and managing the full DevOps lifecycle for enterprise IT systems

• Experience in automating system deployment, configuration, operation, monitoring and logging using scripts and DevOps tools

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools, source code management and infrastructure automation

• Strong scripting and automation skills using Shell, Python or similar technologies

• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and resolve technical issues efficiently

• Good interpersonal, communication and documentation skills

• Proficiency in both spoken and written English
