COSTING ANALYST - MNC electronic manufacturing service (EMS) (Kwun Tong/5 days work)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop, maintain and improve standard product costing for materials, labour and overheads across multiple product families.

• Analyse standard costs against actual costs, explain variances and recommend practical actions to the Operations Director and management.

• Prepare regular inventory valuation and analysis, including inventory ageing, excess and obsolete stock, and inventory turnover.

• Ensure inventory records are properly reconciled with the general ledger.

• Participate in and review physical stocktakes and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and timely adjustments.

• Review and validate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routings in the ERP system to ensure costing reflects actual manufacturing processes.

• Work closely with Engineering and Production to assess the cost impact of engineering changes, process changes and productivity projects.

• Maintain accurate and reliable costing-related master data in the ERP and related systems.

• Support RFQ processes by preparing product cost estimates, scenario analyses and cost benchmarking against actual performance.

• Contribute to annual budgets and rolling forecasts for manufacturing costs, including materials, direct labour and overhead absorption.

• Track material prices, labour rates and overhead trends; identify risks and opportunities in a timely manner.

• Partner with Operations and Procurement to identify cost-reduction and efficiency initiatives, and quantify their financial benefits.

• Analyse production efficiency, scrap rates and labour utilisation to support continuous improvement on the shop floor.

• Prepare clear cost and KPI reports to support fast, data-driven decision-making by senior management.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.

• At least 3 years’ relevant experience in costing analysis, preferably in EMS or a related manufacturing environment.

• Experience in establishing or improving product costing frameworks in scalable manufacturing companies.

• Strong exposure to full-cycle product costing, from RFQ and quotation through to post-launch actual cost benchmarking.

• Solid knowledge of inventory management, with proven achievements in improving inventory turnover and optimising stock levels.

• Hands-on experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment, including BOM and routing management.

• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, including standard costing, variance analysis and inventory valuation.

• Advanced Excel skills and confidence in handling large data sets.

• Able to turn complex costing and operational data into clear, concise reports and presentations for senior management.
