COSTING MANAGER / SENIOR COSTING ENGINEER – Toys Manufacturer (Kwun Tong)

ROLE MISSION 

• To manage product costing and quotation activities for the OEM toys business, ensuring accurate and competitive cost estimates, supporting profitable customer deals, and aligning customer requirements with manufacturing capabilities.

ROLE SUMMARY

• You will play a key role in supporting business growth through product costing, pricing analysis, and commercial support for international customers.

• You will work closely with sales team, product development, factory operations, procurement, and overseas customers to provide timely and accurate costing information that enables successful project wins and sustainable margins.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage product costing and quotation preparation for new and existing OEM toy projects.

• Prepare accurate cost breakdowns, pricing proposals, and commercial support documents for customers.

• Analyse cost structures and provide options and recommendations to improve win rates and profitability.

• Maintain regular communication with key customers on costing, pricing, and project-related commercial matters.

• Liaise and negotiate with customers and suppliers on cost-related issues to support business profitability.

• Track project milestones and ensure costing and commercial information are updated in line with customer requirements.

• Support the identification and evaluation of new OEM toy opportunities through cost analysis and market insight.

• Build and maintain effective working relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams across different regions.

• Coordinate with product development, engineering, production, and procurement to validate costs, materials, and manufacturing assumptions.

• Prepare management reports and analyses on costing, pricing, and margin performance as required.

• Travel to Mainland China for factory visits, meetings, and project follow-up.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Minimum 8–10 years of experience in toys manufacturing, product costing, product engineering, or a related commercial role.

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and key cost drivers in a toys or consumer products environment.

• Proven experience supporting international customers with costing, pricing, and commercial communication.

• Solid customer-facing skills with the ability to handle pricing discussions and basic commercial negotiations.

• Strong business acumen with the ability to balance competitiveness and profitability in costing decisions.

• Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail; proficient in data and margin analysis.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; able to work effectively with cross-functional teams and factory operations.

• Fluent in English and Mandarin, both spoken and written.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with costing or ERP systems preferred.

• Preferably with hands-on factory / plant experience.

• Willing and able to travel to Mainland China when required.
