Executive Officer II (carrying the job title of ‘Assistant Manager – Media and Public Relations’) (Ref. 260001NH) (Closing date: October 6, 2026)
The Communications and Public Relations Office (CPRO) is looking for a versatile communications specialist who demonstrates effective communication skills and commitment to attain the best publicity outcomes for the University.
The appointee will be responsible for (a) crafting compelling narratives for different audiences; (b) ensuring the production of high-quality publicity materials, including press releases articles and line-to-take; (c) reviewing, editing articles, and enhancing the viewership of an e-newsletter which targets at international and mainland communities; (d) planning and overseeing press events; (e) overseeing public relations projects from concept development to execution; (f) assisting in crisis management; (g) support CPRO in public stakeholder relations building; (h) enhancing co-ordination with internal University units to drive media and public relations outcomes; and (i) performing other tasks as assigned. Traveling to the Chinese Mainland may be required occasionally.
Applicants should have/be (i) a Bachelor’s degree; (ii) fulfilled the language requirements set out on the website: http://www.hro.cuhk.edu.hk/en-gb/languageforeo; (iii) at least 6 years of work experience in related fields, preferably in large organisations or higher education institutions; (iv) a proven track record of developing and executing effective communication campaigns; (v) effective team co-ordination skills which include supervising staff; (vi) a positive work attitude to handle tasks under a tight deadline; (vii) great relations with the media and public stakeholders; (viii) a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); and (ix) mature and self-motivated to lead projects with the team. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test in both English and Chinese.

Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance, operational needs and mutual agreement.
