ROLE MISSION :

• Deliver the design and delivery of high-end hospitality and residential projects for both Japanese and non-Japanese clients

• Ensure design intent is accurately communicated and coordinated across international project teams, clients and consultants

• Drive the full design process from concept development through production drawings, FF&E coordination and site supervision

ROLE SUMMARY :

• Handle both Japanese and non-Japanese clients and projects across hospitality and residential sectors

• Serve as the key Japanese-speaking liaison for Japanese clients, consultants and vendors while also supporting non-Japanese project teams

• Take ownership of design development, production drawings, FF&E packages and site coordination under the guidance of the Design Director

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : 

• Work closely with the Design Director and design team to develop design concepts, mood boards and material palettes for hospitality and residential projects

• Prepare and coordinate production drawings, interior detailing and shop drawings with high accuracy and quality

• Communicate design intent and project updates clearly with Japanese-speaking and non-Japanese clients, consultants and vendors via email, meetings and presentations

• Lead material and finish selection, sample board preparation and furniture prototype reviews

• Participate in site visits, mock-up reviews and installation supervision to ensure design quality and execution

• Prepare and deliver client presentations, design proposals and project documentation in Japanese as needed

• Travel to project sites, client offices and supplier showrooms as required

IDEAL CANDIDATE :

• Tertiary education in Interior Design, Architectural Design or related discipline

• 1+ years of experience in interior design; experience in hospitality design (hotels, resorts, F&B outlets) or high-end residential projects is a strong advantage

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office; SketchUp and Bluebeam Revu are advantageous

• Strong design ability with solid knowledge of production drawings, interior detailing, material usage and FF&E packages

• Ability to communicate design ideas through hand sketch or 3D programs (SketchUp, Rhino, 3ds Max, etc.) is essential

• Native or fluent Japanese (spoken and written) is essential; good command of English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is highly advantageous

• Customer service skills and comfortable interfacing with clients, consultants, vendors and internal staff

• Willing and able to travel regionally as project needs require
