JAPANESE SPEAKING MERCHANDISER - Japan MNC garment manufacturer (TST East)

• It operates a strong manufacturing and sourcing network across Asia, including Japan, China and Southeast Asia, and focuses on quality, innovation, performance and sustainability.

• The Hong Kong office acts as a key regional hub for garment programmes. It coordinates closely with brand customers, the Japan head office and factory teams in China and other Asia Pacific countries. The office is responsible for order follow‑up, production planning, supplier communication, quality control and on‑time delivery, ensuring that all products meet customer standards and timelines.

ROLE MISSION

• To support the merchandising team in managing garment production from order to delivery, ensuring that styles are produced on time, within cost, and to the required quality standards for Japanese and international customers.

ROLE SUMMARY

• Function: Merchandising support for garment orders (mainly Japan / APAC accounts)

• Travel: Around one trip per month to China and other Asia Pacific countries for factory visits and inspections

• Reporting to: Merchandising Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Help with production planning and price negotiation with suppliers.

• Communicate with factories and suppliers to track production progress and solve issues.

• Carry out quality inspections at factories to ensure products meet customer standards.

• Handle ad hoc projects and tasks assigned by the Manager.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Higher Diploma or Degree in any discipline.

• At least 2 years' experience in garment merchandising.

• Fluent in Japanese (spoken and written) – JLPT N2 is required.

• Good command of English, Cantonese and Mandarin (spoken and written).

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Comfortable with PC and office software (e.g. MS Office).

• Willing and able to travel about once a month within China and Asia Pacific.
