Our dedicated Fruit & Vegetable Team works closely with a wide network of growers, suppliers, importers, and distributors across the United States, Australia, Europe, Mainland China, Hong Kong, and other key sourcing markets.
We supply premium fresh produce to the HORECA customers including luxury hotels, fine-dining restaurants, caterers, private clubs, and food service operators.

Role Mission

To secure reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality fruit and vegetable supply through direct overseas sourcing, strong supplier partnerships, market intelligence, and disciplined procurement execution.

Role Summary

This is a key procurement role responsible for the direct sourcing and purchasing of fruit and vegetables from overseas suppliers, with a strong focus on supply assurance, pricing control, quality standards, and product development.
You will work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to manage sourcing strategies, negotiate commercial terms, expand product assortment, and ensure stable supply to support business growth in Hong Kong’s competitive fresh produce market.
This role requires solid hands-on experience in procurement of fresh produce directly from overseas countries, particularly in managing supplier relationships, seasonal supply planning, and cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities

Lead sourcing and procurement of fruit and vegetables from overseas suppliers and selected local sources.
Develop and implement sourcing strategies to ensure stable supply, competitive pricing, and high product quality.
Conduct regular price reviews, market analysis, and supply trend monitoring to support procurement decisions.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and quality specifications with growers, importers, wholesalers, and distributors.
Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with overseas suppliers and other key supply partners.
Monitor seasonal availability, supply risks, and market fluctuations to secure timely and cost-effective purchasing solutions.
Drive new product development by identifying market opportunities, emerging varieties, and customer demand trends.
Expand the product range by introducing new fruit and vegetable items that strengthen market competitiveness.
Evaluate supplier performance in terms of quality, reliability, responsiveness, and pricing.
Resolve supply, quality, and delivery issues promptly to minimize business disruption.
Work closely with sales, logistics, warehouse, quality control, and operations teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment and delivery.
Ensure all purchased products meet required standards for freshness, quality, quantity, and food safety compliance.
Maintain accurate procurement records, purchase orders, invoices, contracts, and supplier documentation.
Track inventory levels, forecast purchasing needs, and support effective stock planning.
Prepare reports on purchasing performance, supplier performance, cost trends, and market intelligence.
Support procurement policy implementation and participate in ad hoc projects as required.

Ideal Candidate

Tertiary education preferably in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Business Administration, Agriculture, Food Science, or a related discipline.
5+ years of procurement experience in food, of which 2+ years in fruit and vegetable procurement.
Direct experience sourcing fruit and vegetables from overseas suppliers is essential.
Additional experience sourcing fresh produce from Mainland China is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of fresh produce procurement, seasonality, supply chain dynamics, and market pricing.
Proven ability to negotiate effectively on pricing, terms, and supplier arrangements.
Procurement experience in supermarket, food wholesale, import/export, or fresh produce trading is suitable.
Familiar with supplier evaluation, quality management, cost control, and inventory planning.
Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel; experience with procurement systems is an advantage.
Good command of English and Chinese, both written and spoken.
Proactive, detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to work well in a team environment.
Strong relationship-building skills and a commercial mindset.
