SOURCING GENERAL MANAGER – US garment buying office / trading (Lai Chi Kok)

Role Mission

• Drive sourcing excellence by optimizing vendor partnerships, cost efficiency, and product quality, while supporting speed-to-market and business growth across both private label and branded businesses.

Role Summary

• Lead end-to-end sourcing activities across Asia, manage vendor relationships, and ensure alignment with global sourcing strategies. 
• Build and lead a sourcing team of 5–6 members in Hong Kong, oversee costing and production processes, and act as a key bridge between Asia operations and US headquarters.
• This position reports directly to the CEO based in the US headquarters.

Job Description

• Develop and manage strategic partnerships with factories and vendors across China and Southeast Asia
• Evaluate vendor capabilities, capacity, compliance, and overall performance
• Lead seasonal costing, price negotiations, and margin optimization initiatives
• Provide detailed cost analysis and recommendations to senior management
• Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or delivery timelines
• Oversee product development and production schedules to ensure on-time delivery
• Collaborate with Production, QA, and Technical teams to resolve issues proactively
• Monitor and drive vendor KPIs including cost, quality, and on-time delivery performance
• Act as the key liaison between Hong Kong, China, and US teams to ensure alignment on priorities and execution
• Support compliance programs including factory audits and continuous improvement initiatives
• Contribute to global sourcing strategies and process optimization
• Build, lead, and develop a sourcing team of 5–6 members in Hong Kong
• Prepare and report sourcing performance and updates to the CEO and US headquarters
• Travel to China and Southeast Asia for factory visits and business meetings

Ideal Candidates

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Fashion, or related disciplines
• Minimum 5 years of experience in apparel sourcing, supply chain management, or vendor management
• Strong knowledge of garment manufacturing processes, costing structures, and supplier management
• Proven track record in supplier negotiation and cross-border coordination
• Experience in both private label and branded business for the US market is a strong advantage
• Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to build and manage a team
• Strong execution skills in global sourcing and vendor performance management
• Fluent in English and Mandarin; Cantonese is an advantage
• Willing and able to travel frequently to China and Southeast Asia
• High level of ownership, accountability, and discipline
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement
