SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR ( Civil & Estimating) - China State-Owned Enterprise Engineering & Construction Group - Civil Infrastructure (Quarry Bay/5 days work)

Role Summary

• We are seeking an experienced QS professional with a strong background in civil engineering and estimating to join a dynamic project team. 
• Reporting to the QS Manager, you will be actively involved in tender preparation, cost estimation, and commercial evaluation, contributing to the delivery of high-quality and cost-effective project outcomes.
• This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with proven experience in construction estimating, tendering, and contract administration, particularly on civil and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive tender submissions, including detailed cost estimates, risk assessments, and pricing strategies.
• Analyse drawings, specifications, and contract conditions to ensure accurate and competitive cost planning.
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to obtain, compare, and evaluate quotations.
• Support contract administration activities and monitor project cost performance against budget.
• Maintain and update cost databases, benchmarking data, and subcontractor/supplier records.
• Assist in the negotiation and finalisation of subcontract agreements and variations.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to align commercial and technical objectives.
• Contribute to post-tender activities, including clarifications, negotiations, and handover to project teams upon award.

Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in construction estimating and tendering, with strong exposure to civil/infrastructure projects (tunnels, rail, roads, bridges, or similar).
• Experience in the estimating side of QS work is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with NEC contracts and other standard forms of contract used in Hong Kong and the region is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team under tight deadlines.
• Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese; Putonghua is a plus).
• Professional membership (e.g. HKIS, RICS, or equivalent) is an advantage.
