MECHANICAL ENGINEERING MANAGER – OEM/ODM Project & NPI - HK listed electronic manufacturing service (EMS)

ROLE MISSION

• Lead mechanical engineering activities for OEM and ODM projects.

• Manage projects from product development and NPI to production transfer and mass production.

• Lead and develop a team of engineers.

• Work closely with internal teams and overseas customers.

• Ensure products are delivered with good quality, cost efficiency and production reliability.

ROLE SUMMARY

• This is a key leadership role in mechanical engineering.

• Manage project development, NPI activities, engineering documentation and production transfer.

• Provide technical support on product design, tooling, quality, cost and production efficiency.

• Work closely with design, quality, production and purchasing teams.

• Communicate with overseas customers.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Lead mechanical engineering activities for OEM and ODM projects.

• Manage NPI projects from design stage to production transfer and mass production.

• Develop and manage project schedules to ensure timely delivery.

• Review and approve engineering documents, sample approvals and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).

• Lead, train and develop a team of engineers.

• Work closely with design, quality, production, purchasing and other internal teams.

• Provide technical support for product, tooling, quality and production issues.

• Review mechanical designs and provide DFM recommendations.

• Support tooling development for plastic injection and metal stamping parts.

• Support PPAP, process validation and customer quality requirements.

• Ensure products and processes meet quality and regulatory requirements.

• Communicate with overseas customers through meetings, calls and emails.

• Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to management and customers.

• Drive cost reduction, quality improvement and production efficiency.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Tertiary education in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

• At least 5 years’ experience in electronic product manufacturing.

• Supervisory or team-leading experience is preferred.

• Familiar with ISO 9001 quality management system requirements.

• Proficient in 2D and 3D drawing software.

• Good knowledge of mechanical design for electronic products.

• Knowledge of plastic injection, metal stamping and tooling design is an advantage.

• Experience in project management, NPI, PPAP and process validation is preferred.

• Strong problem-solving, communication and leadership skills.

• Able to communicate with overseas customers independently.

• Proficient in English and Chinese, including Mandarin.
