We are looking for aspiring and suitably qualified individuals to join our Capital Works Business Unit (CWBU), where we work with our stakeholders to create sustainable transport solutions for the community, and we care for our staff and provide a great place to work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage communication system designs for new railway / Smart and Green Mass Transit System projects in accordance with project, tender and statutory requirements

• Contribute to next-generation mission-critical radio and mobile communication platforms aligned with new railway standards and industry practices

• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, government departments and statutory bodies; prepare tenders, evaluate submissions and resolve design issues

• Provide engineering support for critical computer systems and information security, ensuring compliance with applicable cybersecurity legislation, codes of practice and standards

• Lead/support innovation and proof-of-concept projects for adopting new technologies in railway projects

• Participate in consultancy projects for communications systems and information security design and implementation

Requirements

• Degree in Communications/Electronic/Electrical Engineering or a related discipline

• A minimum of 6 years’ experience in the design of communications systems for large-scale railway projects

• Possession of Corporate Membership of a recognised professional institution is preferred

• Strong knowledge of mobile communications, trunked radio, Mission Critical Services (MCX), integrated communication systems, cloud-based railway solutions, cybersecurity regulations, standards and industry practices for railway and transportation sectors

• Strong analytical, critical thinking, written English and interpersonal communication skills

• Broad understanding of fibre optic transmission, IP networking, CCTV, cloud computing, wireless networks, mobile applications, Internet of Things (IoT), cybersecurity and Building Infrastructure Modelling (BIM); railway implementation experience is an advantage

Remarks

• Appointment will be made on two-year renewable contract terms
