Project Manager / Assistant Project Manager (Ref: 2600887)
Academy for Applied Policy Studies and Education Futures
The appointee will assist the Director of the Academy in oveeeing various special projects and events, managing strategic initiatives, and advancing the development of AAPSEF. To facilitate the Academy’s and the University’s strategic priorities, the appointee will be responsible for organising outreach and engagement activities and for initiating and fostering collaborations and networks at various levels in Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area, the region, and beyond.
The appointee will be responsible for planning and executing the outreach and engagement plan of the Academy in Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area, the region, and beyond; managing initiatives and achieving the targets of the Academy and the University; ensuring the smooth operation and effective implementation of strategic initiatives, projects, related committees, functions, and events; and maintaining operational effectiveness and efficiency. The appointee will liaise with and engage key internal and external stakeholders, including Senior Management and various committees, programme and project team members, and international scholars, and perform other duties as assigned by the Director and his/her delegates within AAPSEF. The appointee may be required to work off campus and undertake business travel as necessary.
Applicants should have a recognized University degree, preferably a Master’s degree in Education, Marketing, Communications or a related discipline, with substantial years of post-qualification experience in project or programme management. Applicants should have strong leadership and coordination skills to manage projects in team settings, experience in staff supervision, conflict resolution, sensitivity to confidential matters, and the ability to handle challenging situations tactfully. Excellent presentation, communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills are required for liaising with internal and external stakeholders, with high proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese.
Applicants with less experience may be considered for the post of Assistant Project Manager.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract. Fringe benefits include the University’s Voluntary Contributions to MPF Scheme or a contract-end lump sum payment (totaling up to 15% of the basic salary for Project Manager post / 10% of the basic salary for Assistant Project Manager post), leave, medical and dental benefits, and, where applicable for Project Manager post, housing benefits.
