We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the Public Affairs Office: 

Public Affairs Officer (Marketing) (PAO) (Ref: 26001SU) 

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Public Affairs or his/her nominee(s), the appointee will be responsible for supporting the Public Affairs Office and its Branding and Marketing Team in the following key duties:

  • Develop and execute integrated full-funnel marketing campaigns (online and offline) to drive brand awareness and student acquisition;

  • Manage day-to-day operations of social media channels (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Xiaohongshu), including content planning, copywriting, publishing, audience engagement and account maintenance;

  • Create and curate engaging content (posts, visuals, photos, videos) that aligns with HKMU’s brand positioning and marketing objectives, driving traffic, engagement and conversion;

  • Plan, produce and edit short-form videos (including subtitles, music and cover design);

  • Coordinate and implement offline marketing and branding activities (e.g. recruitment talks, info days, roadshows, media buy and campaign scheduling) to support student recruitment and public engagement;

  • Identify, evaluate and manage collaborations with KOLs, bloggers and influencers;

  • Monitor social media trends, platform algorithms, competitor activities and market developments to support the team in refining content strategy and publishing approaches;

  • Track and analyse marketing and advertising performance (including ROI), prepare reports and recommendations;

  • Liaise with different internal teams/offices and external parties to ensure accurate, consistent marketing messages and smooth campaign implementation; and

  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Director of Public Affairs or his/her nominee(s).

Candidates

Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:

  • A recognised degree, preferably in marketing, business, journalism, communications, public relations or related disciplines;

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in marketing, social media management and content creation;

  • Hands-on experience in short-form video filming and editing, and social media content production;

  • Strong creativity, visual sense, and content awareness, with the ability to translate brand positioning into engaging content;

  • Experience with digital marketing tools (e.g. Google Ads, Google Analytics, Meta Ads) is an advantage;

  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua;

  • Strong PR sense;

  • Mature, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and a good team player with good interpersonal and communication skills;

  • Well-organised with strong multi-tasking and time management skills;

  • Able to manage projects independently under pressure and tight deadlines; and

  • Flexible and willing to work outside office hours when necessary. 

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and interview.

An attractive remuneration package, including basic salary, an end-of-contract gratuity, and a discretionary incentive payment, where applicable, will be offered to the right candidates.
