R&D MANAGER - manufacturer lighting & consumer electrical product (Dongguan/5 days work)

COMPANY OVERVIEW

• We are a long-established Hong Kong-based manufacturer and exporter with a major production base in Dongguan.

• The company specializes in lighting products and consumer electrical products, and has strong OEM/ODM capability.

• The company has a large factory operation, strong manufacturing know-how, and internal product development and testing capabilities.

• It serves international customers and works on both branded and OEM/ODM product programs.

ROLE MISSION

• Lead the R&D function and drive new product development for the company’s lighting and consumer electrical product lines.

• Improve product design, performance, quality, and cost effectiveness.

• Support the factory and commercial teams in bringing new products from concept to production.

ROLE SUMMARY

• This is a hands-on R&D leadership role based in the Dongguan factory.

• You will manage product development projects and coordinate closely with Hong Kong management, production, quality, and sales teams.

• The role will cover new product development, technical improvement, prototype testing, and project coordination.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Lead and supervise the R&D team in Dongguan.

• Develop new products and improve existing products for lighting and consumer electrical categories.

• Manage product concept development, prototype creation, testing, and launch preparation.

• Work closely with the factory on design feasibility, production process, and material selection.

• Review product specifications, safety requirements, quality standards, and cost targets.

• Support OEM/ODM customer projects and product customization requests.

• Cooperate with quality, production, procurement, and sales teams throughout the development process.

• Monitor market trends and identify new product opportunities.

• Liaise with suppliers and technical partners as needed.

• Ensure product development projects are completed on time and within budget.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Product Design, or a related discipline.

• Strong R&D or product development experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Experience in lighting products or consumer electrical products is highly preferred.

• Good technical knowledge of product design, testing, materials, and manufacturing processes.

• Strong project management and problem-solving skills.

• Able to lead a team and work well with cross-functional departments.
