The Singapore International School (Hong Kong) offers a through-train programme with a bilingual (English and Chinese) education from Preparatory Years to the IB Diploma Programme. We are looking for creative and committed people of high calibre to join our dynamic team.

About the role

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Chinese Language and Literature teacher to join our Secondary School starting from August 2027. The ideal candidate should look forward to delivering the highest quality of learning in a stimulating, happy, and safe environment.

Key responsibilities

• Academic Domain

  • Teach Chinese Language and/or Chinese Literature across secondary year levels

  • Collaborate closely with colleagues in the Chinese Department on curriculum, pedagogy, assessment, and resource development

  • Provide regular verbal and written feedback to students and parents regarding academic progress and pastoral growth

• Pastoral Domain and School-wide Committees

  • Undertake pastoral care duties, including form-teachership responsibilities and leading/managing after-school clubs or activities

  • Be part of the school-wide committees to organise and/or lead the conduct of the events and activities to bring out a vibrant school life

The ideal applicant should

• Possess at least an undergraduate Honours Degree in Chinese Language and Literature (or related discipline) and a recognised teacher qualification (e.g. Bachelor of Education, Postgraduate Diploma in Education, or equivalent)

• Proven teaching experience (at least 3 years) in Secondary Chinese Language and/or Chinese Literature

• Native-level fluency in spoken Mandarin, with working ability to read and write communications in English

• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, effective classroom management, and a collaborative team attitude

• Possess a strong commitment and passion for Chinese language and cultural education

• Experience with curriculum development and creating bespoke learning materials (desirable)

• Experience teaching across a wide range of student year levels and diverse learning backgrounds (desirable)

• Skill in leveraging educational technology and digital platforms to enhance classroom engagement (desirable)

The following qualities are preferred but not compulsory:

• Teaching experience with IGCSE and IBDP Chinese curriculum

• Working experience with students of diverse learning needs

主要职责

1. 学术领域

• 教授中学各年级的中文语言和／或中国文学课程；

• 定期向学生及家长提供口头及书面反馈，汇报学生的学业进展及全人发展情况。

2. 学生关怀辅导及全校性委员会

• 承担学生关顾工作，包括担任班主任，以及带领和／或管理课后学会或活动；

• 参与全校性委员会，协助组织及／或领导各类学校活动，共同营造积极、多元且充满活力的校园生活。

理想的应聘者应具备以下条件

• 持有中文语言与文学或相关学科的荣誉学士学位或以上学历，并具备认可的教师专业资格，例如教育学学士、教育深造文凭或同等资历；

• 具备至少三年中学中文语言和／或中国文学教学经验；

• 普通话达到母语水平，并具备以英语阅读及撰写工作沟通文件的能力；

• 具备良好的人际沟通能力、有效的课堂管理能力及团队协作精神；

• 对中文语言及中华文化教育具有高度的热忱与投入；

• 具备课程开发及设计校本学习材料的经验者优先；

• 具备教授不同年级及不同学习背景学生的经验者优先；

• 能善用教育科技及数码平台提升课堂参与度及学习成效者优先。

以下经验优先考虑，但并非必要条件

• 具备IGCSE及IBDP中文课程的教学经验；

• 具备与特殊教育需要学生教学的经验。
