We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the Office of Research Affairs and Knowledge Transfer:
Senior Manager (Knowledge Transfer) (ORA) (Ref: 26001XV)
Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:
Leading the strategic design and execution of a comprehensive portfolio of support programmes, including industry-collaboration initiatives, trainings, mentorship, incubators, accelerators and venture building services, to drive knowledge transfer and foster a vibrant entrepreneurial culture;
Leading the development and facilitation of structured industry collaboration platforms, driving the translation of research outcome into commercially viable products, services, and measurable social impact;
Aligning the strategies of the knowledge transfer and entrepreneurship teams to build and nurture a pipeline of academic, student and alumni-led startups;
Identifying and bridging business opportunities with the university’s research talents, students, and alumni. catalysing joint research projects, commercialisation initiatives, and the creation of new startup ventures;
Cultivating and leveraging robust network of industry partners, angel investors, venture capitalists, and potential customers, securing strategic collaborations that open sales channels and explore funding opportunities for university startups and research teams;
Leading the planning and execution of impactful events, including networking sessions, demo days, IP workshops, and regional partner visits that engage the internal academic and startup community with the broader external innovation ecosystem;
Collaborating with Public Affairs Office to develop and implement marketing strategies aimed at driving awareness of the university’s research findings, innovations, and startup activities. Position the university as a hub for entrepreneurial talent; and
Performing any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Candidates
Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:
A recognised degree, in Business, Economics, Sciences and Technology or related disciplines, with a minimum of 15 years of post-qualification experience;
10 years of hands-on experience in startup ecosystem development, entrepreneurship support, business development, and knowledge transfer;
Substantial experience in formulating and executing business strategies, identifying emerging opportunities, and forging collaborations with industry and community stakeholders to drive commercialisation and startup scaling;
Strong management, interpersonal, and organisational skills, complemented by a service-oriented and collaborative mindset;
A strong sense of self-motivation and ownership, plus the capability to work both independently and collaboratively; and
Excellent command of English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
Terms and Conditions for Appointment
An attractive remuneration package, including basic salary, an end-of-contract gratuity, and a discretionary incentive payment, where applicable, will be offered to the right candidates.
