The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) is a member institute of the Vocational Training Council (VTC), established in 2012. Department of Hospitality and Business Management

Major Duties:

The appointee shall engage in teaching and related learning activities, support students in their learning, participate in academic and scholarly activities of the Department, and undertake academic and administrative support services for the Master of Business Administration in Digital Transformation (MBADT) programme.  The Programme aims to develop students’ understanding and capability to manage transformation and innovation in the current business environment.  The Programme offers two specialised streams, one in “Digital Business and Leadership” and the other in “Digital Technology and Innovation”.

The appointee will need to assist in the formulation of learning and teaching strategies and curriculum development for at least one of the following modules:

  • Business Intelligence and Analytics
  • Cyber Law
  • Cyber Security in Business
  • Digital Business Process and Operations
  • Digital Business Strategy and Transformation
  • Digital Marketing
  • Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and Business Sustainability
  • Ethics in a Digital World
  • Global Business Environment
  • Leadership and Strategy
  • Management of Digital Innovation
  • Managerial Accounting and Finance*
  • Managerial Economics*
  • Organisational and Human Resources Management
  • Strategic Innovation and Entrepreneurship*

Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate teaching expertise in Managerial Accounting and Finance, Managerial Economics, and Strategic Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Requirements:

The successful candidate should have a recognised Doctoral degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Digital Transformation, Digitalisation and Digital Innovation, or a related discipline, with solid teaching experience at the tertiary level and/or experience in professional practice in related fields.  He/She should have experience in supervising students’ Final Year Projects, and possess high proficiency in English and Chinese, including Putonghua.  He/She must also fulfil one of the following criteria:

(a) Mother tongue/language is Putonghua; or
(b) Received a recognised bachelor’s degree or above for which the Medium of Instruction (MOI) was Putonghua; or
(c) At least 3 years’ work experience in Chinese Mainland or other Putonghua-speaking countries or regions; or
(d) Achieved at least Grade B, Level 2 in the Putonghua Shuiping Ceshi (PSC) – Putonghua Proficiency Test administered by the State Language Commission.

Notes:

(1) The post is at the rank of Teaching Fellow I.
(2) Applicants who have responded to this advertisement in the last six months need not re-apply.
(3) The appointee may be required to perform duties at different locations, including outside Hong Kong, and to work irregular hours, shifts, and weekends, as necessary.
(4) The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with the appointee’s qualifications and experience.
(5) The appointee will work at the Chai Wan Campus and/or nearby teaching premises.
