Temporary Manager (1-Year Contract) - Corporate Finance (Corporate Disclosure - Takeovers Team)

Duties & Responsibilities:

Reporting to Director - Corporate Finance, the candidate will be involved in the work of the Corporate Disclosure (Takeovers) Team, which primarily involves the administration of the Codes on Takeovers and Mergers and Share Buy-backs, and making appropriate requisitions and conducting investigations in order to identify breaches of the Takeovers Code and associated misconduct.

The candidate might also be involved in policy projects, or other ad hoc projects and assist in the regulatory work of the monitoring team within the Corporate Disclosure Team where necessary.

 

Requirements:

An ideal candidate should possess a university degree, preferably with professional qualifications in Law or Accounting but strong, direct relevant experience in a corporate finance area would also be considered. He or she should have significant experience in corporate finance activities (in particular mergers and acquisitions) from his/her work at securities and futures companies, investment banks, regulatory bodies, professional law or accounting firms. In-depth knowledge of the regulation of listed companies and the Codes on Takeovers and Mergers and Share Buy-backs is essential. Excellent conceptual, analytical, interpersonal, written and presentation skills are important for the position. In particular, the candidate should have an ability to analyze complex transactions and technical texts, assess regulatory and legal issues and formulate appropriate regulatory responses taking into account the functions and objectives of the Commission. The candidate should also be able to prepare clear and concise documentation and manage multiple case projects at the same time effectively.
