We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the Wu Jieh Yee School of Arts and Social Sciences:

 

Temporary Research Assistant II (Project Code: R6958) (A&SS) (Ref: 260023I)

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee(s) will assist the Project Team in the research project “Building Research Capacity and Impact in Digital Games and Youth Development” (Project ref. no. RIF/2025/2.1). The appointee will mainly be responsible for the following:

  • Supporting various research activities, including interviews, data collection and categorization, and the acquisition of texts and materials;

  • Collecting, transcribing, translating fieldwork materials and research materials on related topics;

  • Assisting literature searches for the project;

  • Preparing presentation materials for conferences;

  • Supporting the project’s publication, knowledge mobilization, and public dissimilation; and

  • Performing other tasks related to the project.

 

Candidates

Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience, and competencies:

  • A recognized master’s degree or above, preferably in cultural studies, social sciences, game studies, or a related discipline;

  • Competent at computer skills and software (e.g. MS Office using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, NVivo, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CRM Web management);

  • Strong communication skills;

  • Self-motivation, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines and work independently; and

  • An excellent command of Chinese (Cantonese preferred) and English.

 

Terms and Conditions for Appointment

Successful candidate(s) will be appointed on a temporary full-time contract starting from Oct 2026 to March 2027. Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.
