Academy for Applied Policy Studies and Education Futures
The University invites applications for the position of Senior Professional Consultant/ Professional Consultant in the newly established strategic area of Health Sciences and Occupational Therapy. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of distinguished scholars and will be affiliated with the relevant academic department and/or the Academy.
Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will play a pivotal role in advancing the University’s academic and clinical initiatives. Key responsibilities are as follows:
- Support the planning, development and implementation of a new Master of Science (MSc) in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, and contribute to programme and curriculum development, and course management and quality assurance activities;
- Coordinate clinical placements in Chinese mainland for students in health and rehabilitation sciences;
- Promote the Master of Science (MSc) in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences programme to potential students in Chinese mainland;
- Undertake teaching responsibilities and laboratory demonstration;
- Expand the University’s international network in health sciences and rehabilitation to enhance the discipline's global competitiveness. This includes assisting in establishing non-local clinical education units, with a particular focus on the Chinese Mainland;
- Engage actively in professional and consultancy services;
- Seek external funding and donations; and
- Undertake administrative duties and contribute to professional service activities within the University and the wider community.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants should have a PhD degree in Occupational Therapy, Health Sciences, Rehabilitation Sciences or a related disciplines and have at least 3 years of relevant post-qualification teaching and/or professional experience in occupational therapy, health sciences, rehabilitation sciences, or related areas. Alternatively, applicants should have a relevant Master’s degree in the related discipline(s) and a minimum of 8 years’ relevant post-qualification work experience, with demonstrated subject expertise and competence. Candidates with less experience will be considered for the appointment as Professional Consultant. Candidates with the ability to teach in English, Cantonese, and Putonghua will have an advantage. All candidates should have relevant professional experience in the related discipline(s) and a good network with the professional organisations of the disciplines and/or higher education institutions in Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland. The successful candidate should also possess strong organisational, interpersonal, and collaborative skills, with the ability to contribute effectively to programme development, clinical education, and international partnership initiatives.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract. Fringe benefits include the University’s Voluntary Contributions to MPF Scheme or a contract-end lump sum payment (totaling up to 15% of the basic salary for the positions of Senior Professional Consultant, and totaling up to 10% of the basic salary for the position of Professional Consultant), leave, medical and dental benefits, and, where applicable, housing benefits. The appointee will hold a substantive rank of Project Manager/ Assistant Project Manager in the University.
