Manager (Development) (Ref. 260720006-IE)
 
Duties
 
The appointee will be required to:  
 
(a) design and implement fundraising and partnership development programmes and initiatives;
 
(b) identify, outreach and engage new prospective donors and funding bodies including those of Mainland background;
 
(c) engage and cultivate positive relationship with University Fellows, and provide support to University Fellow Association, others committees and working groups;
 
(d) support institutional partnership development;
 
(e) prepare fundraising/partnership proposals, reports and marketing communication materials;
 
(f) plan and organise activities/events to engage prospective donors, funding bodies and partners; and
 
(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Office or her delegates.
 
The appointee may be required to work beyond or outside normal office hours and travel to the Chinese Mainland for the purposes of attending meetings and/or events, and for liaison/ coordination/networking functions.
 
Qualifications
 
Applicants should:
 
(a) have a recognised degree in a related discipline;
 
(b) possess at least five years’ solid working experience at supervisory/management level in donor acquisition, fundraising and/or partnership development, preferably gained in the higher education sector, non-governmental organisation or philanthropic sector;
 
(c) have a good and established network in the Chinese Mainland and relationship with high value donors;
 
(d) have an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with proficiency in Putonghua;
 
(e) processes excellent interpersonal, writing and organisational skills;
(f) be a good team player, and have high self-motivation and ability to complete tasks independently; and
 
(g) have strong planning/organising abilities, problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
 
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Conditions of Service
 
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
