Manager / Assistant Manager (Ref. 260731007)
Duties
The appointee will be responsible for infrastructure and system development and maintenance, management of information technology (IT) projects, and provision of technical support and advice to the Office. He/She will be required to:
(a) oversee the development and maintenance of the research project management system and its related applications;
(b) coordinate and liaise with external vendors for application development by defining functional specifications and ensuring the quality of deliverables;
(c) independently collect requirements, support user acceptance testing (UAT) and provide comprehensive training to users;
(d) identify opportunities and solutions for continuous enhancement of operational efficiency through automation, adoption of digital tools and integration of AI technologies;
(e) initiate and implement new AI-driven initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, streamline processes and improve data analysis capabilities;
(f) design and coordinate electronic surveys, compile and analyse statistical data as required by internal and external stakeholders;
(g) develop and maintain documentation for infrastructure and systems, including user guides, standard operating procedures and maintenance manuals, etc.;
(h) supervise subordinates and provide ongoing guidance and support to foster their professional development; and
(i) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Research and Innovation or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognised degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline, preferably with a postgraduate degree in related areas;
(b) at least five years of solid and relevant post-qualification experience at supervisory level, preferably gained in tertiary institutions;
(c) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua being an advantage;
(d) demonstrated capacity for successful development and implementation of IT projects;
(e) sound analytical, problem-solving and project management skills with a proactive work attitude; and
(f) good leadership, self-motivation, interpersonal and communication skills.
Shortlisted candidates may be invited to give a brief presentation/demonstration on his/her previous work experience in handling system development.
Applicants with less experience may be considered for the post of Assistant Manager.

Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
