Fractional Senior Clinical Practitioner in Periodontology

Applications are invited for appointment as Fractional Senior Clinical Practitioner in Periodontology of the Faculty of Dentistry (Ref.: 537586), to commence as soon as possible on a fixed-term (50% fractional) basis for two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Applicants must possess a dental or medical (Bachelor’s) degree or equivalent and a clinical specialist status or equivalent in Periodontology.  Their clinical expertise should enjoy regional acclaim as evidenced by extensive clinical or teaching experience, regional clinical publications/presentations, and regional recognition of clinical excellence in a clinical specialty.

Applicants should also have proven clinical competence in diagnosis and comprehensive treatment planning, and delivery of high-quality periodontal and dental implant treatment in both primary care settings (general dental practice) and referral practice (specialist practice).  They should also be a good team player who is enthusiastic and motivated to make a positive impact on healthcare for Hong Kong citizens through contributions to excellent undergraduate education and beyond, and demonstrate a strong interest in teaching and learning.

The appointee will deliver the Periodontology curriculum to undergraduate and postgraduate students, supervise clinical teaching, provide clinical services, and contribute to administrative duties in the Faculty.  Enquiries about the duties of the post should be sent to Professor W.K. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.  Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
