履歷是個人的營銷文件，可向潛在僱主推銷個人技能。而研究顯示，招聘人員瀏覽每份履歷平均時間僅約20秒，因此必須讓對方一眼就認為您是最佳人選。讓履歷獲得青睞的關鍵如下： 內容符合僱主要求如果寫明個人技能與職位需求明確相符，能讓招聘人員輕易判斷。與此同時明確展現自己具備僱主要求的相關技能、經驗與特質；強調個人優點與職位的關聯性，並刪除無關內容；在履歷中納入與職務內容相似的關鍵詞，以便加深招聘人員對您的印象。 強調成果突顯過往工作經驗及主要職責固然重要，但重點並非只是列出日常的工作內容。履歷應著重於個人與眾不同的成果，展現自己對組織的貢獻，例如節省經費或時間、超越目標、解決問題、改善流程、吸引新客戶等，最好能列出各項量化數據、比例或金額。 用語肯定履歷的語調應保持熱忱、樂觀與專業。優先寫出自身最明確、與職位最有關聯的優點，善用容易留下深刻印象的詞語，如「已完成」、「開發出」、「順利管控」、「第一」、「最佳」 、「最高」等。運用這些鮮明的詞語，坦率呈現工作成果，有助於提高履歷的說服力與特質。
