筆者在職埸二十多年，由小sales做到跨國媒體公司老總，雖然談不上成功，但總算有一點成績，靠的絕不是運氣 (運氣？從小到大都無乜！) ，也不是靠學歷，好的學歷確是一張好的入的(職)埸票，對起步開跑時會有幫助，但職埸是一埸長跑，起步好並不保證以後成績一定好，亦沒有人事關係，筆者在職埸路上是靠一個信念；機會是給有準備的人。筆者認識很多公司老闆，每當問到他們的成功秘訣，他們都很謙虛說只是運氣比較好而已，但同時也不忘補充說：「運氣，只有在你準備好的時候，才能有效發揮作用。」（Luck is good only for the prepared mind）。運氣常常出現，但也稍縱即逝，想抓住身邊一閃而過的運氣，必須事先就妥善的準備好，當然天時、地利及人和也不可缺一。 Pixel Media 老闆 Kevin 是筆者的好朋友，Kevin 於二千年從馬來西亞 Double Click Media 隻身調到香港分公司出任銷售總監，當時Kevin除要面對科網泡沫爆破後惡劣的經營環境、更要從新建立他的客戶及人脈網絡。讀者們可能有所不知，從事新媒體工作的從業人員每天除要應付繁忙的工作外，新媒體發展之快可謂「網上一天、網下十年」，為要貼緊市埸發展，從業員每天要吸收大量資訊，這就是正所謂247 (廿四小時七天工作)不眠不休的行業。

In a recent article by Business Insider, it told a story that a large, successful enterprise startup tried to poach a “programmer” currently working at Google. The startup made the programmer what it thought was a big offer: a $500,000 salary but the programmer told the startup thanks, but Google was currently paying him $3 million per year in cash and restricted stock units.
