About Us
Established in Hong Kong in late 2013, the Asian Film Awards Academy (AFAA) aims to promote and develop Asian cinema, its talents and audiences. It is a milestone collaboration between the three major, and long-established, international film festivals in Asia – Busan, Hong Kong and Tokyo. Its membership is drawn from all nominees and winners of the annual flagship Asian Film Awards – leading professionals in their own fields of the film industry and spread throughout Asia. Headquartered in Hong Kong, the Academy will provide an impact and influence that will promote Asian cinema through the Asian Film Awards and a programme of year-round initiatives to develop and strengthen relationships between the film industries, talents and audiences across Asia.
