ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING MANAGER – NPI & manufacturing engineering - HK listed electronic manufacturing services (EMS) (Guangdong/5 days work)

ROLE MISSION

• To lead electronic engineering projects from New Product Introduction (NPI) to mass production, ensuring products are manufacturable, reliable and delivered on time.

• You will lead a team of engineers, work closely with quality and manufacturing teams, and communicate with overseas customers to support successful product launches.

ROLE SUMMARY

• This is a managerial engineering role responsible for NPI project management and manufacturing engineering support.

• You will lead engineers and cross-functional activities to develop manufacturing processes, fixtures, DFM recommendations, PFMEA, quality control plans, process validation and PPAP submissions.

• You will also lead DFM reviews and failure analysis during the NPI stage, review engineering documents, monitor project progress and communicate directly with overseas customers.

• This role is suitable for an experienced electronic engineering professional with strong technical knowledge, project management skills and customer-facing experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Plan and lead NPI projects from product introduction to mass production.

• Lead a team of engineers and drive cross-functional activities with quality, manufacturing, planning and other teams.

• Work with Quality and Manufacturing teams to develop process flows, fixture designs, DFM recommendations, PFMEA, quality control plans (QCP), process validation and PPAP submissions.

• Lead DFM reviews and failure analysis (FA) during the NPI stage.

• Provide technical support to resolve product, process and quality issues.

• Review and approve engineering documents, including process documents, test plans and project deliverables.

• Monitor project progress to ensure schedules, milestones and deliverables are on track.

• Communicate with overseas customers through conference calls, emails and project meetings.

• Ensure products meet customer requirements, IPC standards and regulatory approval requirements.

• Support continuous improvement activities to improve product quality, manufacturability and production efficiency.

• Lead, train, mentor and develop engineering staff.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Tertiary education or above in Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.

• At least 7 years of NPI project management experience.

• Candidates with less experience may be considered for the Assistant Electronic Engineering Manager position.

• Strong technical ability to support DFM and failure analysis.

• Experience in manufacturing process validation and PPAP process.

• Good knowledge of IPC standards and regulatory approval requirements.

• Knowledge of optical communication, IoT or automotive products is an advantage.

• Analytical, self-motivated and able to work independently.

• Able to communicate with overseas customers independently.

• Proficient in English and Chinese, including Mandarin.
