We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Arts and Social Sciences

Part-time Lecturer (STAT 2002AEF) (2026 Autumn) [UG] (A&SS) (Ref: 26001NM)

Major Duties and Responsibilities 

The appointee will be responsible mainly for the course planning, development and delivery of the full-time face-to-face undergraduate programmes. Major duties include conducting lectures and tutorials, writing lecture notes, designing and marking of assignments/examination scripts and performing other related teaching and administrative duties. Requirements for the relevant course(s) are specified as follow

 

  • STAT 2002AEF Essentials of Quantitative Research Inquiry

Applicants should possess a higher degree, preferably an earned doctorate, in Sociology, Social Sciences, Statistics, Quantitative Social Research or a related discipline. Candidates should demonstrate strong expertise in quantitative research methodologies, data analysis techniques, and the application of SPSS within social science contexts. They should have teaching or professional experience, and relevant teaching experience, particularly in introductory statistics, research methods, or quantitative data analysis at the tertiary level would be an advantage.


 

Terms and Conditions for Appointment

Successful candidate will be appointed on a temporary part-time contract. Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions. The appointee will be required to work during daytime on campus for the period from September 2026 to January 2027 for a maximum of 16 hours per week.
