ROLE MISSION

To take technical ownership of IoT hardware product design, leading the full journey from concept through production-ready deliverables, ensuring high-quality design validation, certification compliance, and successful product launch for our international clients.

You will lead IoT hardware and firmware design at a growing Hong Kong ODM company
Take technical ownership from brief to production
Work directly with international clients and Asian manufacturing partners
Drive the development of connected electronic products
Cover the full product journey from blank schematic to shipping product
Include design validation, certification preparation, and production handoff

JOB DESCRIPTION

Lead IoT hardware and firmware design and development from concept through production-ready deliverables
Oversee validation activities from engineering through design to production
Drive certification preparation (FCC, CE, RCM) and pre-compliance testing
Collaborate with clients to capture requirements and convert to product specifications
Use in-house spectrum analyser and test equipment for design validation
Support production tooling handoff with Asian CM (Contract Manufacturer) partners
Maintain design and validation documentation: schematics, BOMs, test reports
Lead analog and digital circuit design and PCB layout activities
Conduct embedded firmware development and testing
Coordinate with industrial design teams for product integration
Ensure design compliance with international certification standards

IDEAL CANDIDATE

Bachelor's degree or higher in Electronic/Electrical Engineering
8+ years of hardware/electronics design experience
2+ years in a senior or lead capacity
Strong analog and digital circuit design expertise
Proficient PCB layout skills
Proficiency in Altium Designer
Clear understanding of requirements, specification and validation processes
Embedded firmware experience (C/C++, RTOS, embedded Linux)
Familiarity with FCC, CE, or RCM certification processes
Experience with pre-compliance testing
Excellent English communication skills (for direct client engagement)
Ability to work with international clients across multiple time zones
Ability to collaborate with Chinese/SE Asian CM partners
