Role Mission
- The Mechanical Engineering Manager will lead the New Product Development Mechanical Engineering Team and drive the development of innovative, high-quality products from concept through commercialization.
- This role is responsible for technical leadership, project execution, risk management, and production support, ensuring smooth delivery of mechanical solutions that meet design, quality, regulatory, and market requirements.
Role Summary
- Reporting to the R&D Vice President, the successful candidate will act as both a hands-on project leader and a technical manager, overseeing mechanical design activities, project planning, progress monitoring, and issue resolution.The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, strong leadership in new product development, and the ability to present project progress clearly to senior management.

Job Description
- Lead the New Product Development Mechanical Engineering Team in technical troubleshooting, project execution, and innovation initiatives.
- Plan, schedule, and monitor project tasks to ensure timely and effective delivery.
- Identify project risks early, provide timely alerts, and drive effective resolution.
- Present project progress, key issues, and detailed updates to top management with accuracy and clarity.
- Consolidate technical knowhow and translate lessons learned into future product development.
- Drive new product innovation, concept evaluation, and proof-of-concept development.
- Lead mechanical engineering design review, validation, and production introduction.
- Provide engineering support for production lines, manufacturing issues, and product launch activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment on design, quality, cost, and schedule.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in a decision-making role within consumer electrical appliances, consumer electronics, or lighting-related industries.
- Strong hands-on experience in mechanical design, structural mechanics, motion mechanisms, and limits and fits.
- Solid knowledge of engineering materials such as carbon steel, aluminum, LDPE, HDPE, PP, ABS, PC, and PA6/66.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes such as metal stamping, tube seam welding, powder coating, electroplating, PVC calendaring, and PE/PP/PET cast film.
- Familiar with mechanical CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Pro/E Creo, AutoCAD, and similar software.
- Strong knowledge of global regulatory standards including UL, CSA, CE, SAA, ASTM, ISO, EN, and FCC.
- Knowledge of global recycling standards such as GRS, RCS, SCS, and OBP is an advantage.
- Understanding of product life cycle systems such as PMP, PDP, TQM, Balanced Scorecard, xFMEA, Lean Design, and Kaizen is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles related to electronics/electrics is a strong plus.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
- Creative, innovative, detail-oriented, and strong in problem-solving.
- Able to work confidently in cross-functional environments and embrace feedback constructively.
