Role Mission
- The Switching Power Supply Failure Analysis Engineer will be responsible for identifying the root causes of power‑supply failures across the manufacturing line and customer returns, improving product reliability, and supporting the company's focus on high‑quality, high‑power switching‑power solutions.
- The Power Supply Defect Analysis Engineer is responsible for identifying the root causes of power supply failures in production lines and customer-returned products, improving product reliability, and supporting the company's focus on developing high-quality, high-power switching power supply solutions.
Role Summary
- Reporting to the Engineering / R&D team, the engineer will lead failure analysis for industrial power supplies, communication power supplies, server power supplies, medical power supplies, LLC / full‑bridge / bidirectional power supplies, and related products.
- Reporting to the engineering/R&D department, this position requires leading the fault analysis of products such as industrial power supplies, communication power supplies, server power supplies, medical power supplies, and LLC/full-bridge/bidirectional power supplies.
- The role covers end‑to‑end problem solving, including failure detection, repair, aging verification, batch repair management, and providing preventive recommendations to reduce field returns and improve manufacturing yield.
- Our work scope includes one-stop problem solving, from fault detection, repair, aging verification, batch rework management to providing preventive advice, in order to reduce customer defective rework and improve process yield.
Job Description Responsibilities
- Identify, diagnose, and repair power‑supply faults in complete machines and individual units.
- Identify, diagnose, and repair faults in the entire machine and individual power supplies.
- Perform root‑cause analysis of defective products, including damage‑mechanism investigation and component‑level validation.
- Root cause analysis of defective products is conducted, including investigation of the damage mechanism and verification at the component level.
- Lead batch repair and rework operations, including failure statistics collection, Pareto analysis, and preventive suggestions.
- Leading batch rework and rework operations, including defect statistics, Pareto analysis, and prevention and improvement recommendations.
- Support customer after‑sales high‑end power supply failure analysis and trouble‑shooting for difficult machines.
- Supports customers in advanced power supply fault analysis and technical troubleshooting for difficult machines.
- Provide technical suggestions for design improvement, process optimization, and test‑program refinement to reduce field failure rates.
- Provide technical advice on product design, process optimization, and testing procedures to reduce field failure rates.
- Collaborate with R&D, QA, Manufacturing, and Product Engineering to implement corrective and preventive actions.

- Operate and maintain key test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, high‑voltage differential probes, electronic loads, power meters, regulated power supplies, constant‑temperature soldering irons, heat guns, burn‑in load systems, and insulation/voltage‑withstand testers.

- Conduct measurements including switching waveforms, drive waveforms, ripple, spike, Vgs/Vds, output dynamics, and load‑based aging tests.
- Perform tests on switching waveforms, drive waveforms, ripple, spikes, Vgs/Vds, output dynamics, and carrier aging.
- Prepare clear and structured failure analysis reports, technical documentation, and prevention recommendations.
- Write clear, structured failure analysis reports, technical documents, and prevention and improvement recommendations.
Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor's degree or above, majoring in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Electronic Information Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Bachelor's degree or above, majoring in electronic engineering, electrical engineering, automation, electronic information engineering or related fields.
- Over 5 years' experience in power supply development, testing, or failure analysis, preferably in industrial, communication, server, or medical‑grade power supplies.
- Candidates with over 5 years of experience in power supply R&D, testing, or fault analysis, and those with backgrounds in industrial, communication, server, or medical power supplies will be given preference.
- Proven track record in handling complex switching‑power faults (industrial, communication, server, medical, LLC / full‑bridge / bidirectional power supplies) and complete‑machine aging verification.
- Possesses practical experience in successfully handling complex switching power supply faults (industrial, communication, server, medical power supplies and LLC/full bridge/bidirectional power supplies) and performing full-system aging verification.
- Proficient in medium‑to‑high‑power (hundreds of W to tens of kW) power‑supply topologies and mass‑production problem analysis, including:
- Small power: Flyback, Forward (adapters, internal small‑board power supplies); Medium and high power: Half‑bridge, Full‑bridge, PFC+LLC, PFC + dual‑transistor forward; Industrial: Industrial control power supplies, servo power supplies, laser power supplies, medical power supplies, communication power supplies, and high‑power server power supplies.
- Proficient in analyzing the topology and mass production issues of medium and high power (hundreds of watts to tens of kilowatts) power supplies, including: low power: flyback, forward (adapter, internal small board power supply); medium and high power: half bridge, full bridge, PFC+LLC, PFC+dual-transistor forward; industrial: industrial control power supplies, servo power supplies, laser power supplies, medical power supplies, communication power supplies and high-power servo power supplies, etc.
- Strong understanding of power supply topology theory, including Buck/Boost, Flyback, Forward, Half‑Bridge/Full‑Bridge, PFC; LLC resonance, soft switching, synchronous rectification, active clamping, matrix‑type topologies; and application of SiC/GaN wide‑bandgap devices.
- Gain a deep understanding of power supply topology, including Buck/Boost, Flyback, Forward, Half-bridge/Full-bridge, PFC; LLC resonant, soft-switching, synchronous rectification, active clamping, matrix topology; and the application of SiC/GaN wide bandgap devices.
- Strong analytical mindset with meticulous attention to detail and documentation; ability to work independently and lead cross‑functional technical discussions.

- Good command of English and Mandarin; Cantonese is an advantage.
