Role Mission

• To lead the Meat category commercially and operationally, driving profitable growth, strengthening supplier and customer partnerships, and ensuring reliable supply, competitive pricing, and strong cross-functional execution.
• Reporting to the Meat Category General Manager

Job Description

• Develop and execute the Meat category growth strategy.
• Deliver sales, margin, and profitability targets.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and category performance.
• Identify new product and business development opportunities.
• Manage category budgets, forecasts, and business plans.
• Build and maintain strategic customer relationships across food service and retail channels.
• Support key customer meetings, tenders, quotations, and contract renewals.
• Work closely with sales teams to identify and maximize growth opportunities.
• Develop pricing strategies to maintain competitiveness and profitability.
• Monitor supplier costs, market pricing, and currency impact.
• Review and recommend selling price adjustments as needed.
• Manage supplier relationships, pricing negotiations, and commercial terms.
• Monitor supplier performance, product quality, and service levels.
• Identify alternative sourcing options to improve supply security and competitiveness.
• Oversee forecasting and procurement planning.
• Ensure stock levels support business growth and customer requirements.
• Monitor inventory ageing, stock turns, overstock, and slow-moving stock.
• Minimize stock write-offs and out-of-stock situations.
• Coordinate with Sales, Supply Planning, Procurement, Warehouse, and Logistics teams.
• Act as the category expert and main point of coordination for the Meat category.
• Identify and escalate commercial, operational, and supply chain risks.

Ideal Candidate

• Extensive experience in meat importation, food distribution, food trading, or category management.
• Strong expertise in the Meat category.
• Proven track record in managing a meat business or meat category.
• Solid experience in sales growth, pricing, procurement, forecasting, and inventory control.
• Strong supplier negotiation and commercial management skills.
• Excellent analytical, financial, and commercial acumen.
• Strong communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
• Solid understanding of the Hong Kong food service and retail market.
• Established network of suppliers and industry contacts.
• Existing customer network in Hong Kong’s food service sector is highly preferred.
• Professional, commercially sound, and able to work across functions effectively.
