SENIOR ENGINEERING & COSTING MANAGER - toys manufacturer (Kwun Tong)

Role Mission

• To lead engineering support and product costing activities for the OEM toys business, ensuring accurate cost control, competitive quotations, manufacturable product solutions, and strong coordination between customers, engineering teams, and factory operations.

Role Summary

• This role plays a key part in driving business growth through engineering feasibility review, product costing, pricing strategy, and commercial support. 
• You will work closely with product development, factory operations, procurement, and overseas customers to ensure technical requirements are clearly translated into practical and cost-effective manufacturing solutions.

Job Description

• Lead engineering review and costing activities for new and existing OEM toy projects.
• Analyze product structure, materials, tooling, and manufacturing processes to develop accurate cost models.
• Prepare product costing, pricing proposals, and quotation support for customers.
• Provide engineering and cost alternatives to improve manufacturability, efficiency, win rates, and profitability.
• Work closely with product development, factory teams, and procurement to ensure cost accuracy and production feasibility.
• Review customer requirements, technical specifications, and project milestones to support smooth project execution.
• Negotiate with customers and suppliers on technical, costing, and commercial matters to achieve the best business outcomes.
• Monitor project progress, commercial issues, and customer feedback to ensure timely follow-up.
• Support business development through market intelligence, technical insight, and commercial analysis.
• Travel frequently to Mainland China as required.

Ideal Candidate

• Minimum 10 years of experience in toys manufacturing, product engineering, product costing, or related commercial/technical roles.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, tooling, and key cost drivers.
• Proven experience in product costing, pricing, and customer support for international accounts.
• Solid engineering mindset with the ability to review product feasibility and improve cost efficiency.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in English and Mandarin, both spoken and written.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Factory experience is highly preferred.
• Willing and able to travel frequently to Mainland China.
