Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for UNIX and Linux system administration and support including system setup, configuration, related third party software installation, patch upgrades, system monitoring and health check
- Conduct regular security vulnerability scanning, execute server hardening, implement security patches, manage SSL/TLS certificates, and audit system logs
- Manage server capacity, data backups, performance monitoring, system fault diagnosis, and troubleshoot for systems and applications
- Develop and maintain diverse web stacks, container technologies, and hosting environments, such as PHP, Node.js, Python, Go, Docker/Podman, MySQL, and MariaDB
- Assist in server management, script development, routine system maintenance, and performance tuning
- Work in shifts and irregular hours as required
- Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors
Qualifications and Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information System or related disciplines
- At least 2-3 years of working experience in UNIX / Linux server administration and operating system hardening
- Hands-on experience in script programming such as Linux shell scripts or Python
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- A good knowledge and relevant experience in the setup, operation and technical support of virtual machines and containers will be advantageous
- Candidates with less experience will be considered as Information Officer
- Fresh graduates are welcome
Candidates with less/more experience will also be considered for appointment at the relevant rank.
Salary and Fringe Benefits
The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity.
