MERCHANDISER – European optical accessories / eyewear manufacturer serving global fashion & designer brands (Hunghom)

COMPANY OVERVIEW

• European manufacturer specialising in fashion optical accessories, including optical frames, optical cases, and eyewear accessories products.

• The company provides end-to-end services covering design, product development, manufacturing, and global distribution. 

• Its Hong Kong office serves as the trading and regional coordination hub, supported by manufacturing facilities in China and Southeast Asia, as well as sales offices in France, Italy, and the USA.

• Its primary markets are Europe and the United States, serving international fashion, optical, and designer brands.

ROLE MISSION

• You will provide professional account service to assigned overseas clients and ensure the smooth execution of orders, from product development and quotation through production and shipment.

• Working closely with customers, factories, and internal teams, the successful candidate will help deliver quality products on time and build long-term client relationships.

ROLE SUMMARY

• Work as part of a merchandising team of 6 members

• Report to the Merchandising Manager

• Handle assigned clients and brands mainly in the US and European markets

• Coordinate product development, order processing, production follow-up, and delivery arrangements

• Act as a key liaison between overseas customers and factories in China and Southeast Asia

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Provide professional account servicing and day-to-day support to assigned clients and brands

• Coordinate projects among customers, factories, and internal departments to ensure smooth execution

• Manage the full order process from initial enquiry, quotation, sampling, and order confirmation through production and shipment

• Handle customer enquiries, follow-up requests, and project updates in a timely manner

• Prepare quotations and follow up with customers to secure orders and business opportunities

• Liaise closely with factories to monitor production schedules, quality requirements, and delivery deadlines

• Follow up prototype and sample development to ensure products meet customers’ specifications and expectations

• Monitor key project milestones and support delivery follow-up to ensure on-time shipment

• Maintain accurate order records and update relevant information in the company system

• Participate in trade fairs, exhibitions, and marketing events when required

IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Diploma holder or above is preferred

• At least 3 years’ experience in merchandising, order processing, sales coordination, marketing, account servicing, or customer service

• Experience in optical frames, eyewear, fashion accessories, or related products is a strong advantage

• Experience gained in a trading, manufacturing, or consumer-goods environment serving US or European markets

• Experience in servicing international fashion brands is a strong advantage

• Able to coordinate effectively between factories in China and overseas customers

• Proficient of MS Office, especially Excel

• Knowledge of ERP or SAP systems is a plus

• Good communications in spoken and written English and Chinese; Mandarin is an advantage

• Organised, detail-minded, responsible, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines
