• The Hong Kong office is the group’s sourcing and production office. We work closely with the European headquarters and vendor factories, mainly located in Guangzhou, to support the development and production of fashion handbags for international markets.

• The office mainly handles fashion handbags, especially leather handbags, and related fashion accessories. Our work covers sourcing, product development, merchandising, production follow-up, quality coordination and vendor management.

ROLE MISSION

• To support the merchandising and production process for fashion handbags, from product development and sample follow-up to finished-goods delivery.

ROLE SUMMARY

• You will support the merchandising process for fashion handbags across three international fashion brands.

• Your responsibilities will include product-development coordination, sample follow-up, material and trim follow-up, production monitoring, quality coordination, delivery follow-up and communication with vendor factories.

• You will report to the Merchandising Manager and join a team of six members, including the Merchandising Manager, Merchandisers, R&D, QA and administrative support colleagues.

• You will work closely with the R&D and QA teams and communicate regularly with vendor factories to ensure that product requirements, quality standards, production schedules and delivery targets are achieved.

• The position involves approximately one to two business trips per month to Guangzhou to visit vendor factories. Same-day return travel to Hong Kong is possible. 

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Support the merchandising process for fashion handbags, mainly leather handbags.

• Coordinate product-development activities with R&D, QA, merchandising colleagues and vendor factories.

• Communicate product requirements, design details, quality standards, production instructions and approved changes to vendors.

• Follow up on samples, comments, revisions and approvals.

• Coordinate with R&D colleagues to ensure product information is accurate and properly communicated to vendors.

• Work with QA colleagues on quality requirements, inspection results, testing requirements and corrective actions.

• Follow up on production with vendor factories from order placement to finished-goods delivery.

• Monitor production schedules, manufacturing progress, material readiness, workmanship, quality and shipment plans.

• Visit vendor factories to review product development, production progress and quality issues.

• Follow up on leather, synthetic materials, trims, hardware, linings, packaging and other production materials.

• Coordinate with vendors and QA colleagues on inspections, quality problems, rework and corrective actions.

• Support the Merchandising Manager in monitoring seasonal collections and important production milestones.

• Prepare regular updates on sample development, production progress, quality and delivery status.

• Maintain good communication with vendor factories and internal departments.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

• 2–4 years of relevant merchandising or production experience in the fashion handbag industry.

• Experience with leather handbags is an advantage but not essential.

• Experience working with handbag vendor factories is preferred.

• Experience with international fashion brands or a fashion sourcing office is an advantage.

• Good knowledge of handbag materials, construction, trims, hardware, linings, workmanship and production processes.

• Good follow-up, communication and problem-solving skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

• Good command of English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
