We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Education and Languages:

Part-time Lecturer 

 

ENGL 8818EEF Interdisciplinary Studies for English Language Learning and Teaching

     

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following: 

  • planning and teaching a full-time course focusing on sociolinguistics for postgraduate students;

  • completing related duties including preparing teaching materials, designing assessments and assisting in the development of teaching and learning activities; ;

  • providing consultation to students; and

  • performing other duties related to the development and delivery of the course.

 

The appointees shall be required to teach a maximum of 2 hours per week during weekdays evenings on campus in the face-to-face mode between December 2026 and April 2027.

 

 

Candidates

Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:

  • a higher degree in linguistics, sociolinguistics, or a related discipline; and

  • must be excellent in both written and spoken English. 

Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience in tertiary education and a PhD in related discipline.

 

 

 

Terms and Conditions for Appointment

Successful candidates will be appointed on a temporary part-time contract. Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.
