The School of Law has three goals: becoming a world renowned centre for research and teaching of law; equipping students with global knowledge, skills and perspectives; and establishing a trusted relationship with local and international legal establishments. These goals are reflected in the composition of the faculty, the curriculum and enrichment activities. The School has also developed special programmes for judges from Mainland China, including LLM and JSD programmes. It has recruited excellent talents at all levels in recent years and these appointments are part of a strategy to enhance the School’s research performance and represent a determined effort to increase the size of faculty by recruiting high calibre staff.
It is the School’s goal to provide quality legal education for students and to broaden their horizons. The School offers a broad range of degree programmes: LLB, JD, LLMArbDR, LLM and PCLL.
Duties
We seek suitable candidates to teach core subjects (e.g. Contract Law, Criminal Law, Land Law, Equity & Trusts, Company Law, Evidence and Hong Kong Legal System) and elective subjects (e.g. Maritime Law). Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed to explore the subject’s suitability and range of interest.
Requirements
An LLB degree (or equivalent). Experience as a barrister/solicitor valued. Interest in interacting with young people essential. Teaching experience at tertiary level is an advantage.
Appointment to a lecturing position requires at least eight years of post-qualification experience, while a tutoring role requires a minimum of four years.
Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed in February/March 2027.
Salary and Conditions of Service
Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
