We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Arts and Social Sciences:

 

Part-time Research Assistant I [R0167] (A&SS) (Ref: 26001QN)

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee will primarily assist with a Research Project titled “Translating Queer Fictions into the Chinese Mainland” (Project code: R0167). The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following: 

  • Assisting and supporting the Principal Investigator in implementing all aspects related to the research project;

  • Conducting preliminary research for the project and assisting data collection, textual analysis, and related research activities;

  • Aiding in writing papers, reports, and publications;

  • Providing a wide range of administrative support to the project; and

  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator.

     

 

Candidates

Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:

  • A master’s degree or above, preferably in translation studies, queer studies, literary studies, or culture and media-related studies;

  • Knowledge and ability to conduct qualitative/quantitative research in the field of queer translation studies.

  • Strong organisational and planning skills, good interpersonal and communication skills, and competent computer skills (MS Office using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) as well as editing skills and AI literacy;

  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese for academic purposes;

  • Good motivation and ability to meet deadlines.

 

Terms and Conditions for Appointment 

Successful candidate will be appointed on a part-time contract. Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.
