About the role

We are seeking to appoint a highly qualified mathematics teacher who is a creative and committed individual of high calibre to join our dynamic Mathematics Department. The person should look forward to delivering the highest quality of learning in a stimulating, happy and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Academic Domain

  • Teach at least two of the mathematics curricula: Singapore Lower Secondary Mathematics, IGCSE Mathematics, IGCSE Additional Mathematics, IBDP Mathematics across the Secondary-DP year levels

  • Collaborate closely with colleagues in the Mathematics Department to create bespoke teaching and learning materials to enable effective and engaging differentiated instruction in the classrooms

  • Provide regular verbal and written feedback to students and parents regarding academic progress

• Pastoral Domain and School-wide Committees

  • Undertake pastoral care duties, including form-teachership responsibilities and leading/managing after-school clubs or activities

  • Provide regular verbal and written feedback to students and parents regarding pastoral growth

The ideal applicant should

• Possess at least  an undergraduate Honours Degree in Mathematics or related discipline and a recognised teacher qualification (e.g. Bachelor of Education, Postgraduate Diploma in Education or equivalent)

• Have proven experience (at least 3 years) in Secondary Mathematics and Additional Mathematics

• Native-level fluency in spoken English

• Possess strong commitment towards a high level of conceptual understanding and teaching of mathematical concepts and problem solving heuristics

• Possess strong proficiency of technology tools to complement the learning of mathematics in the classroom

• Possess competent proficiency in typesetting of mathematical publications using MS Word, Equation Editor, LaTeX, or equivalent to produce professional mathematical documents

The following qualities are preferred but not compulsory:

• Teaching experience in Cambridge IGCSE 0580 Mathematics and 0606 Additional Mathematics

• Teaching experience in IBDP Mathematics: analysis and approaches and IBDP Mathematics: applications and interpretation

• Active examiners in Cambridge IGCSE 0580 and/or 0606 examinations

• Active examiners of IBDP in either Mathematics EE, IA or examination papers

• Teaching experience in TOK
