The applicant must possess:

  1. a recognised degree in engineering or other related disciplines;

  2. no less than 5 years’ working experience in construction related projects or construction related research after obtaining the relevant academic qualifications;

  3. ability to suggest improvement initiatives and manage improvement projects;

  4. excellent communication skills, including written and spoken Chinese and English;

  5. proactive, able to handle tasks independently, and able to work as part of a team; and

  6. a good understanding of construction trade skills is preferred.

Duties include:

  1. to review industry needs and stakeholder expectations regarding trade testing services and operations, ensuring alignment with the latest industry trends and technological developments;

  2. to review and enhance the existing trade testing framework, including assessment content, test structure, marking schemes, and assessment methodologies, and to implement improvement measures where necessary;

  3. to formulate and execute digitalisation and automation strategies for the Trade Testing Centre, including the implementation of system enhancements and process improvements;

  4. to develop, implement, maintain and continuously enhance digital solutions for trade testing services;

  5. to develop, implement, and oversee robotic and AI-driven solutions to enhance trade testing services and operational efficiency;

  6. to plan and coordinate the upgrading of trade testing workshops and facilities with a view to enhancing operational flexibility, efficiency, effectiveness, and user experience; and

  7. to carry out any other duties as assigned from time to time by the Executive Director.
