SPORTS RECOVERY OFFICER

THE JOB

Reporting to the Manager in the Sports Medicine Centre, the Sports Recovery Officer will be responsible for the following duties:

• Provide recovery services for scholarship athletes and to provide overseas on-field support;

• Conduct the injury prevention and rehabilitation program;

• Liaise with coaches and other technical support professionals on elite athletes recovery process;

• Conduct research projects and educational programs for elite athletes and coaches, and

• Perform any other appropriate duties as assigned by senior staff.

THE REQUIREMENTS

• A professional diploma or a university degree in sports therapy, sports medicine or a relevant discipline; or 8 years musculoskeletal recovery services experience for applicants without equivalent academic qualifications;

• A minimum of 2 years sports relevant working experience for the professional diploma holder, elite athletes services experience is a definite advantage；

• Able to work in irregular hours and work overseas;

• Excellent command of both spoken and written English. Ability to speak Cantonese and Putonghua is a definite advantage; and

• Awareness / knowledge of Child Protection in sport and equal opportunity issues in the context of Hong Kong are an added advantage.

This is a renewable contract position. Continuation of employment is subject to operational needs.
