Centre for Language in Education
The Centre for Language in Education provides English enhancement programmes and services for students in the EdUHK. The appointee will be responsible for teaching English enhancement courses in English as the medium of instruction, providing various kinds of language services, e.g. co-curricular and extra- curricular activities and one-to-one teacher-student consultative sessions, assisting in the administration of courses and assessments, contributing to the development of teaching and learning materials; and building network with the Greater Bay Area (GBA) region. He/she will also be expected to contribute to the Centre’s projects and initiatives.
Applicants should possess a Master’s degree in English language education, Applied Linguistics or a related field with high English proficiency; possession of a doctoral degree is preferred. Proven teaching experience at the tertiary level in English for Academic Purposes (EAP), English for Specific Purposes (ESP), and/or workplace English is essential. Candidates should have a minimum of four years of relevant post-qualification teaching experience, along with a teaching qualification such as a PGDE recognized by the Education Bureau of Hong Kong, or an equivalent credential. Expertise in second language education that incorporates emerging technologies, English-medium instruction (EMI), discourse analysis, academic literacies, and/or critical literacies is highly desirable.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract. Fringe benefits include the University’s Voluntary Contributions to MPF Scheme or a contract-end lump sum payment (totaling up to 10% of the basic salary), leave, medical and dental benefits.
