Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) provide administrative support to postgraduate programmes, including but not limited to admission exercise, class time-tabling, subject registration and examination;
(b) provide secretarial support to committees and working groups;
(c) assist in planning, co-ordinating and implementing promotional and marketing activities, special events, seminars, workshops and projects;
(d) liaise with internal and external parties, including professional bodies;
(e) compile statistical reports and maintain effective record systems and databases;
(f) supervise junior staff and student assistants; and
(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of the School or her delegates.
The appointee may be required to travel to the Chinese Mainland occasionally as well as performing duties after office hours and/or on Saturdays/Sundays/public holidays.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognised degree or an equivalent qualification plus not less than three years of relevant working experience preferably in tertiary institutions;
(b) knowledge of the higher education sector in the Chinese Mainland and/or experience in supporting academic programmes offered in collaboration with the Chinese Mainland universities would be an advantage;
(c) good computer literacy, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing;
(d) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, and be able to communicate effectively in Putonghua;
(e) good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills; and
(f) a high level of self-motivation and the ability to complete tasks independently.
Preference will be given to those with working experience in tertiary institution.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
